John R. Oishei Foundation Supports BFNC ProgramsThe Buffalo Federation of Neighborhood Centers, Inc., announced that it was recently awarded a basic human services grant of $50,000 from the John R. Oishei Foundation. The grant will help support the agency's Fun & Learn, Youth Advocacy and Moot Senior Citizens Center programs. BFNC's Fun & Learn program offers after school homework assistance, enrichment workshops and supervision at two City of Buffalo locations. Its Youth Advocacy program offers student representation and intervention for formally suspended Buffalo Public School students. And the Moot Senior Center at 292 High Street offers daily hot meals, socialization, exercise and activities for the low-income elderly. BFNC has served Buffalo and Erie County continuously since 1893. Its programs focus on empowering persons to address life challenges while improving the quality of life in their communities.
