Kick Off the Season with June 21 Summer "Soul"stice !Celebrate the first official day of summer while helping a great cause — our City's children! Citibank and the Buffalo Federation of Neighborhood Centers announced that they will present the Second Annual Summer "Soul"stice Happy Hour, on Friday, June 21, from 5 to 8 p.m. upstairs at D'Arcy McGee's Irish Pub, 257 Franklin Street. According to Daryl Rasuli, board president, the event will raise funds for BFNC's Summer Fun Days program, located at Masten Playground. The program specializes in providing affordable summer day care with an educational edge. This year's program will welcome 450 children for eight weeks of activities, workshops learning and fun. All "Soul"stice guests will enjoy two bar drinks with their admission ticket, plus a "Soul"stice buffet featuring barbecued baby back ribs, wings, salads, cheeses, fruit, sweet potato pie and much more. Ultimate Vibes Sound will provide music for listening and dancing featuring Soul and Motown favorites from the 1960s and 1970s. The "Soul"stice will also feature prize giveaways throughout the evening. Tickets are now available for $25 by calling 852-5065 or online at www.bfnc.org.
