BFNC Seeks Volunteer Tax Counselors for the Elderly

The Buffalo Federation of Neighborhood Centers, Inc. is now seeking adults who can help elderly and low-income Buffalo residents with their income tax returns. BFNC’s Tax Counseling for the Elderly program will run from February 3 through April 7 at the agency’s Tri-Main Center office, 2495 Main St., Suite 534.

Training is provided and a small stipend for travel and meal expenses is also available. Volunteers are encouraged to work according to their own schedules. Morning, afternoon and some weekend shifts are now available.

Coordinator Greenard Poles commented, "We are proud to once again offer this important program to help ensure accurate, timely tax returns for all members of our community."

Interested Volunteers are asked to call Poles or Jalene Edgerton at 885-1455 to sign up for a January training session.

The Internal Revenue Service funds this program. It is one of the many programs offered by the BFNC to help people address life challenges while improving the quality if life in our community.
