Last year the BFNC “Be A Good Neighbor” Turkey and Grocery Giveaway showed us the large community need. 2021 we were committed to continue the service to our neighbors.
Thanksgiving Dinner
On Thursday, November 18, 2021, we were delighted to once again host community seniors at the BFNC annual Thanksgiving Dinner celebration. Although there was a reduced number of attendees due to Covid-19 restrictions, with the assistance of volunteers we were able to deliver 67 dinners to seniors who were not able to attend the dinner.
Not only were the decorations set up to serve queens and kings, the live band, delicious meal, and gift bags created an excellent experience. We were thankful to have received grocery gift cards from one of our sponsors to share with guests. Our staff and volunteers were a major part of creating a festive Thanksgiving Dinner experience.
A special thank you to Latrice Harwell for taking the lead in coordinating this special day.

“We love living our mission of helping community members navigate a path to where they want to be. We hope the turkeys help create a caring and warm day of Thanks for the community,” stated Chandra Redfern, BFNC CEO.
She adds, “We are also thankful to our collaborative community partners and friends who embraced the vision of providing an uplifting Thanksgiving dinner and Turkey Giveaway.”
